I wasn’t going to believe it was real until I called my local Starbucks and spoke to the barista and she confirmed that they did indeed have the Unicorn Frappuccino. It seemed too good to be true that you could walk in and order anything with the word “Unicorn” in it. How many times in your life do you get to order something with the word Unicorn in it and not get a confused and disappointed look in return? Even with all my anticipation the question still remained: WHAT is this mystical and magical drink going to taste like?
It’s an adventure for your tastebuds, and truly one of a kind. As you drink, the Frappucino changes both taste and color. The only way I can even think of how to describe the taste is tangy with a side of mango. As I kept drinking, I noticed it tasted similar to a liquid Sweet Tart with a dash of Sour Patch Kids and mango syrup. The drink goes through a stunning transition as well; as you drink and stir up your Frappuccino what was once purple with a swirl of blue becomes a bright pop of pink. It’s definitely something you should try, especially since it’s only on the menu for five days. I’m not sure if my taste buds could take the mystical adventure that is the Unicorn Frappuccino on a daily basis, so maybe it’s a good thing Starbucks has limited us to five days to walk in and tell the barista “I want the pretty unicorn drink please.”
