Krystal and I took off from Kentucky at 5am and drove all day to Florida anticipating our next adventure. We made a pit stop in Orlando to get some beauty sleep; waking up extra early with hopes of an early check in since the weather reported that today would be the only day of our short visit that we would not experience torrential downpours. We called the front desk at the Conrad before leaving, and asked about getting an early check in to which they told us it was no problem and that our suite was actually already ready.
Walking into the hotel for the first time was breathtaking and made the early wake up and drive totally worth it. The lobby was incredibly beautiful, with one of the most amazing and intricate chandeliers I didn’t want to take my eyes off of. From the moment we arrived we received nothing but smiles and kind service from everyone working there.
Our suite was more perfect than we could have ever imagined. We had everything we needed right at our fingertips including a comfy couch and a bathtub that could have doubled as a pool. They even surprised us with champagne, chocolates, and a special note! We couldn’t believe how everyone went the extra mile to make us feel right at home during our stay. Krystal and I were both tearing up at how beautiful and perfect everything was. It just seemed unreal!
The balcony was one of our favorite parts. From our suite, you could see both the ocean and downtown Ft Lauderdale- it was spectacular! Every morning we would eat breakfast out on the balcony watching the waves roll in. At night, we would sit and watch the lights twinkle from downtown before settling in. I’m pretty sure Krystal is still missing being able to use the espresso machine in our suite every morning and I know I’m still missing that gigantic bathtub.
The pool area was straight out of a movie scene. Walking out to the pool, you’re greeted by beautiful palm trees and people who want to make sure you have everything you need during your time there. It was like a miniature paradise. Krystal even caught me dozing off in the shaded areas while watching and listening to the ocean. We also had fun at the pool bar picking out which drink to try. We ended up getting the Mango Mojito I’m drinking in these pictures and highly recommend!
When we woke up on our second day, we were relieved to find out that the forecast had been wrong and there was no downpour! We had been crossing our fingers that we would get the chance to check out a couple of bikes, so we decided while the rain was holding off that this was the time. It ended up being super easy to do. We just had to let the concierge know that we were hoping to get some bikes and they had us riding within the next few minutes! Coincidentally, my bike and I ended up being twins. When we took our bikes outside, we noticed a slight sprinkle had started, but we didn’t really mind and it actually felt pretty nice!
During a rare wait on the elevator, a man sitting at an old sewing machine caught my eye. The fashionista within me had to know if his gorgeous vintage sewing machine actually worked, so I went in to ask. I was surprised to find out that it was from the 1920’s, still works, and is used as a second sewing machine for the store to help tailor and sew custom clothing orders. The man even brought out an exquisite Italian silk suit jacket he had just finished on the machine for me to see. Side note: We also loved how fast the elevator was. It seemed like there was always one ready whenever we were ready to go!
One of the best things about staying at a Conrad hotel isn’t just the beautiful suites, it’s the treatment you receive while you’re there. Every member of the staff makes you feel welcome and at home during your stay. Several employees even remembered our names, which made us feel extra special. We received this same spectacular treatment when staying at a Conrad a few years ago in New York City. We were in awe of the service then and certainly still can’t believe how wonderful it is now!
On our third day, the rain psyched us out, tricking us into thinking we had enough time to go to the beach and then quickly realized we actually needed to run for cover. We had no problems spending the rest of our time in our suite though. Everything we needed to relax was right there, including super comfy robes I didn’t want to take off! Krystal and I took turns soaking in the luxurious bath, enjoyed the covered balcony a bit longer, and got ready to say our goodbyes to the hotel. Even though it had been a short stay, we got to experience so many things. We were sad to say goodbye to all the friendly faces in the lobby that had helped make our stay so special. Hopefully we’ll be back soon though and can do it all over again!
Thank you to the Conrad Fort Lauderdale Beach for our wonderful stay!
