When I saw this Anthropologie Marigot Pleated Skirt in the store, my first thought was: Carrie Bradshaw. Some of my favorite looks from Sex and The City were when Carrie was wearing bold patterned skirts, so there was no way I was passing this one up. The colors are so vibrant and every time I wear it, I feel just like Carrie (even if I’m substituting Kentucky for New York City).
This Brooks Brothers blouse adds an adorable twist to your typical everyday basic white button down. The ruffle neckline is just the right amount for however casual or dressy a look you’re going for. What really sets it apart from other basics though, is the formfitting darts along the silhouette. These darts help emphasize your waist and keep your shape throughout the day. Anything that makes me feel amazing (especially without having to have it tailored) gets an A+ in my book. The blouse looks amazing even worn simply with jeans and minimalist jewelry, or can be dressed up with a skirt and heels like me.
I’m also wearing the Trillion Necklace by Ann Revere Jewelry which I’m OBSESSED with. It’s so delicately beautiful and has just the right amount of sparkle! I’m a huge fan of minimalist jewelry and this necklace is just the right touch for a shorter v-neck, whether it’s a dress or a shirt! PS: this necklace also comes in a blue gemstone!
Obligatory Carnival / Cotton Candy/ Second Dessert Pit Stop.
There was no way we were passing up a carnival on our way home from this shoot. With a mouthful of ice cream I asked my sister Krystal “Do you think they have cotton candy?” she made a U-turn.
