If you know a little bit about me you know I love all things mod and anything that smells good. This mod swing dress satisfied the first part, and taking these pictures and getting to explore Buffalo Trace Distillery fulfilled the latter fragrance feature. If you’ve ever been there you know exactly what I mean, if you haven’t you have to go just so you do. It’s almost like stepping back in time while you’re there. A past I would totally want to live in because its absolutely gorgeous and smells like warm cookies and bourbon all the time!
This dress, the moment I saw it in the store I knew I was going to end up purchasing. It’s so fun, mod, and girly while at the same time it also has some amazing structural features. I love that the built in slip isn’t just your average slip, it gives you shape (a good feature in any shift), the slip also has a fun neckline that’s very different from most. The overlay also isn’t too dark that you lose your shape; you keep your figure in this dress even with such a bold design. Floral patterns like these are so eye catching and are always great pieces for a wardrobe, especially when it’s time to start transitioning your wardrobe from winter to spring.
I’ve been obsessed with my Anastasia Beverly Hills Self-Made palette lately; all of the shadows I used in my look come from that palette. I don’t splurge on shadows often but when I see Anastasia has a new palette coming out I can’t resist. All of the shades are perfectly pigmented and apply beautifully every time. I’m also wearing one of my favorite lipsticks NARS Funny Face. It’s the perfect fuchsia color and finding out it was named after an Audrey Hepburn movie makes it even better.
When you’re trying to rock your photo shoot and the 40mph wind gust hits¯\_(ツ)_/¯ On a side note: even with near hurricane winds, I never felt like I had to hold my dress down. Bonus!
Being able to pair a dress with a sleek moto jacket like this that plays on its colors helps transition this dress from spring to that winter transition period we’re in right now.
Jackets are always a good go to in making your spring / summer dresses wearable in the winter and fall. I wear this Marrakech moto jacket at least once a week- it’s so sleek and comfortable. If you’re looking to invest in a jacket I highly recommend this one.
The jacket, while being structured and fitted in the body has the sleeves of your favorite hoodie. The sleeves are so cozy you’ll reach for it more often than any other jacket and be glad you did because it’s so flattering.
