Lauren James Mystery Box

My whole life I’ve been obsessed with mysteries. It didn’t matter whether it was the contents of the presents under our Christmas tree, or who the killer was on CSI. I had to know. Nancy Drew, the sleuthing queen, was my role model. Through her I became a sleuth master and learned exactly how to solve every mystery… except maybe what was going to be inside my Lauren James Mystery Box. This black Friday Lauren James has cultivated the perfect…

All The Colors

It’s starting to get chillier here in Kentucky, and I’m starting to miss my colorful summer dresses! This All For Color dress has just the right amount of flair to help me pretend that I’m not totally getting chills every time I go outside without a jacket. The first thing that attracted me to it was the fact that is has pockets (like every dress should, am I right?). It’s bright and colorful, so it’s a happy change from the…

Poncho Perfect

Dressing for fall gets a bit tricky when you live in Kentucky. Here, it seems to feel like the weather changes every five minutes.  Fall in KY can mean anything from 85 and muggy to 35 and snowy.  That makes layers my go to in order to survive the always-changing temps. This All for Color poncho is such a versatile and unique piece for fall. What I really like about it is that it keeps me nice and cozy without…

One Day In Seattle

The line was already down to the corner of the street by the time we got there. It was still early morning and everybody else was obviously in the mood for the most delicious biscuits in Seattle just like us. Biscuit Bitch (lol) makes buttery, soft, better than your grandma’s biscuits. BONUS: they make a small amount of gluten free ones a day and they’re AMAZING, but make sure to get there early because they sell out fast! They even…

Big Little Adventures

We visited North Cascades National Park on a recommendation from Bella Bucchiotti, we weren’t disappointed. When we first saw the lake I would have sworn someone had just taken a massive bottle of food dye to it, there was just no way that occurred naturally. I kept saying “It’s so blue!” so many times I’m pretty sure Krystal wouldn’t have minded kicking me out of the car just to get me to shut up.If there’s one thing I look forward…

A Feast For Shorts

If I were on death row, my final meal would be the loaded pulled pork tots from Feast BBQ and a bourbon slushy. They’re crunchy, savory, and sweet -I really don’t know how they do it. I’ve never had tots like that anywhere else, and the fact that they get slathered in BBQ sauce and topped with perfectly smoked pulled pork and creamy coleslaw makes them to die for (no pun intended). The bourbon slushy is every bourbon lover’s dream…

A Day At Mount Rainier (Part One)

One of the coolest days of our trip to the Pacific Northwest was the day we got to hang out with the wonderful Bella Bucchiotti! We’d found each other on Instagram about a year ago, and discovered we had so much in common. There was no way we couldn’t meet when we were going to be so close! We spent the day on an epic road trip to Mount Rainier, took Bella to Chick-fil-A for the first time, sang way…

Affordable Evening Wear Looks

“I have nothing to wear!” – Me, looking into an overflowing closet. You know the moment. You can try on everything you’ve ever bought, and it just doesn’t fit the night’s occasion. Whats worse? Nice dresses usually cost a FORTUNE. Keeping a couple of affordable backup looks tucked away in your closet is a game-changer. This dress is fun and modern with lacy details and little bitty cutouts along the neckline and waist. I’m in love with the blush pink…

$30 Scalloped shift dress

I’ve always had a sweet spot for street art because they’re always so unique and vibrant.. When we’re exploring a new city, seeing the murals on the sides of the buildings is always so fun because it gives you a sense of the town and its people. This pretty pastel mural is located in the Shelby Park area in Louisville. It’s called “Sunshine & Shadow” which is perfectly fitting for the contrasting darker toned shades and colorful hues. What immediately…

$30 Amazon Striped Swimsuit

This summer I (very skeptically) ordered three gorgeous swimsuits off of Amazon.  Since they were all under $30, I wasn’t expecting much, but they are surprisingly well made and have turned into my new favorites! This one piece is awesome because it has such a striking yet sophisticated look with a way different price tag than basically all other swimsuits of its style.  Like, a $100 difference. This fabulous swimsuit has a flattering high waist, which for all of you…
