Big Little Adventures

We visited North Cascades National Park on a recommendation from Bella Bucchiotti, we weren’t disappointed. When we first saw the lake I would have sworn someone had just taken a massive bottle of food dye to it, there was just no way that occurred naturally. I kept saying “It’s so blue!” so many times I’m pretty sure Krystal wouldn’t have minded kicking me out of the car just to get me to shut up.If there’s one thing I look forward…

A Feast For Shorts

If I were on death row, my final meal would be the loaded pulled pork tots from Feast BBQ and a bourbon slushy. They’re crunchy, savory, and sweet -I really don’t know how they do it. I’ve never had tots like that anywhere else, and the fact that they get slathered in BBQ sauce and topped with perfectly smoked pulled pork and creamy coleslaw makes them to die for (no pun intended). The bourbon slushy is every bourbon lover’s dream…

A Day At Mount Rainier (Part One)

One of the coolest days of our trip to the Pacific Northwest was the day we got to hang out with the wonderful Bella Bucchiotti! We’d found each other on Instagram about a year ago, and discovered we had so much in common. There was no way we couldn’t meet when we were going to be so close! We spent the day on an epic road trip to Mount Rainier, took Bella to Chick-fil-A for the first time, sang way…

Affordable Evening Wear Looks

“I have nothing to wear!” – Me, looking into an overflowing closet. You know the moment. You can try on everything you’ve ever bought, and it just doesn’t fit the night’s occasion. Whats worse? Nice dresses usually cost a FORTUNE. Keeping a couple of affordable backup looks tucked away in your closet is a game-changer. This dress is fun and modern with lacy details and little bitty cutouts along the neckline and waist. I’m in love with the blush pink…

$30 Scalloped shift dress

I’ve always had a sweet spot for street art because they’re always so unique and vibrant.. When we’re exploring a new city, seeing the murals on the sides of the buildings is always so fun because it gives you a sense of the town and its people. This pretty pastel mural is located in the Shelby Park area in Louisville. It’s called “Sunshine & Shadow” which is perfectly fitting for the contrasting darker toned shades and colorful hues. What immediately…

$30 Amazon Striped Swimsuit

This summer I (very skeptically) ordered three gorgeous swimsuits off of Amazon.  Since they were all under $30, I wasn’t expecting much, but they are surprisingly well made and have turned into my new favorites! This one piece is awesome because it has such a striking yet sophisticated look with a way different price tag than basically all other swimsuits of its style.  Like, a $100 difference. This fabulous swimsuit has a flattering high waist, which for all of you…

$30 Pinup Swimsuit

I’ve never been much of a two-piece swimsuit gal because they’re never really flattering. They always seem to hit just at the wrong spot and accentuate my food baby, making me wish I hadn’t had dessert like, ever. High waisted two-piece swimsuits though, have totally changed the game. The bottoms come up high enough that they cover up that whole muffin top/ love handle/ what did I eat area. Plus it has a cool vintage vibe and isn’t that fun?!…

Lauren James Taylor Oxford Dress

My family has been going to St. George Island, Florida for vacation since before I was born. Located just a twenty minute drive away from the island though, is a small historic fishing town called Apalachicola. The little fishing town is filled with lush green palm trees, beautiful historic homes, a quiet river, and a deep blue bay where if you watch for a few moments you may see an alligator or a manatee swim right by. Finding a well…

Lauren James Timeless Planner

In this day and age we rely on our cell phones for everything, but what happens when your phone breaks and you lose all of that information? We’ve all dropped our phones before and cringed as we watched our daily schedules, notes, and precious photos drop to their (possible) imminent death. This is why I’ve started writing everything down. Whether it’s my class schedule, work schedule, or my next vacay, having it all written down in a planner helps me…

The Spectacular Sundress

Looking good and being comfortable is always the goal, but sometimes it feels like getting that is going to cost me an arm and a leg, especially if I want to keep the outfit in my closet for a few years. Every once in a while though, you stumble across a gem when you never even realized you were hunting for treasure, and it feels GLORIOUS. That’s exactly how I feel about my Old Navy sundress because it’s comfy, cute,…
